Starting an adventure
The exploration, building, and combat loop, and what to focus on in your first run.
Reactomino combines falling-block combat with a three-layer adventure. Choose map nodes, collect modules and abilities, adjust your build, and use it in the next battle.
Your first run
- Start with the tutorial to learn placement, rotation, the map, and building. Free control suits a mouse or touchscreen; Classic control uses the keyboard to move pieces.
- Select a map node to view its details, then follow the prompts to enter it. Rearranging your build does not advance map time.
- Place modules fully inside the active build area. Modules in reserve do not take part in combat.
- Fill rows to attack the enemy. Watch its next action and your own Health as well.
- After a victory, sort out your rewards and continue exploring. Defeat the layer’s boss and find the exit to move on.
Reading the battle screen
| Area | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Board | Blocks, material reactions, danger zones, and your landing position |
| PICK | Pieces you can select now |
| PREVIEW | Pieces that will enter PICK later; they are not available yet |
| Enemy intent | How many placements remain before an action, and what it will do |
| Active skills | Available abilities and their charge; targets may be on the board or in the queue |
| Health | Your survival resource in 0.1.0; it carries over between battles |
Three useful questions
Can I place this safely? Free control lets you move your aim past obstacles, but the final placement still has to obey overlap and forbidden-zone rules.
What will happen next? Placement can deal damage and clear lines, and it advances enemy countdowns. Sand, water, fire, and mechanisms may continue changing afterward.
What does this reward improve? More active build cells can increase placement damage. Fixed-material modules change your piece supply. Skills can fill gaps, rearrange the board, or trigger reactions.
